About Us--- Today, in it's fourth year, the business is a thriving and demanding store. With two young children Tobey finds it difficult to be in the store every day and continue to focus on this ever-changing venture. This is why she needed Shirley and Stacey to join her. With the three of them at the helm, they hope that they are able to continue the fine customer service that their customers and friends are accustomed to. As the store continues to evolve, Tobey, Shirley and Stacey strive to bring new and unique products, techniques, and classes to you that can't be found just anywhere!
~Owner Bios~
Tobey has been scrapbooking since her son, Cameron, was six months old. Upon his birth, she was given a gift of scrapbook materials from her Aunt Chris and ever since she began scrapping Cameron’s photos with those supplies, she hasn’t stopped! Now, she enjoys scrapbooking her daughter, Olivia, who just turned two, as well as Cameron, who is now six years old. Tobey lives outside of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania with her husband, Earl, two children, two kitties, and one puppy, in a home they are in our sixth year of renovating. They enjoy spending down time together and with their families. Tobey's family resides in Columbus, Ohio and she tries to visit as much as she can. Earl’s family resides in Lancaster County, so they frequently spend time together. Her previous business experience is in corporate administration in the business-to-business technology field. Tobey enjoys being involved in arts, and this shows in her projects and scrapbooking. She loves to include paints and inks and different materials when she can—it allows her to express herself creatively. She has also dabbled in jewelry making, pottery painting, attempting watercolor, photography as a hobby and rubber stamping. Because of her “artsy” interests, she decided to share her love of scrapbooking and papercrafts with others and open her own store. In 2005, her dream became a realization with the opening of Paper Place.
Shirley Gillett Shirley has been stamping for many years, including being an instructor at rubber stamp and arts and craft stores. Before owning Paper Place, her business experience is in the accounting field, and has since retired from her corporate career to enjoy being an artist and running the store. She and her husband, Don, live in Maytown and enjoy being surrogate grandparents to Tobey's two children. Shirley loves photography and enjoys taking pictures of the local countryside and going to Longwood Gardens on a seasonal basis to photograph their beautiful flowers and plants. Shirley and Don also enjoy being season ticket holders to the Reading Phillies, going to races and spending time on the beach.
