WE OFFER CUSTOM CLASSES AND PRIVATE CROPS!

Looking for a unique and fun way to have a shower or birthday party?  Give us a call and we'll discuss how we can be the next venue for your special event! 

We also do custom classes - choose what you want to learn or make, find a few friends and we'll schedule a date with you!  This also applies to crops--have a crop with all your friends and take over the store!  Crop fees are free, so what better way to spend time with your friends, than scrapbooking together!

**NOTES REGARDING ALL DISTRESS/TIM HOLTZ CLASSES --------------------------------------

Each of my classes may require different supplies to bring, so make sure you refer to the class description here on the website the week of the class so you come prepared with all the supplies needed (or call to ask)!

In ALL the classes, you WILL need to bring the following for your own use: 

*GLOSSY ACCENTS

*NON-STICK CRAFT SHEET

*HEAT EMBOSSING GUN

*DISTRESS INK PADS, if you own any.

Our store has a few of the above supplies (except Glossy Accents) to share in class and only ONE set of Distress Ink Pads. If we have a large class, you’ll appreciate having your own supplies as opposed to sharing.

 If you frequent these Distress-type classes, you may be interested in investing in your own supplies for use in these classes.  Let us know if you are so we can order them in for you in time for your class AND keep in mind you’ll be receiving a special discount on the day of the class!

^{Evening Events in Mount Joy, PA}

We're a part of Main Street Mount Joy, so take advantage of the event and partake in our special for the evening!  Specials will vary and will be announced the week prior to the event and will be found in that week's Merchandiser.  Each month has a different theme, so we'll tailor our evening to the theme and sometimes we might even include a free make and take!  Visit their website at the following link: www.mainstreetmountjoy.com to find out what other businesses in the Main Street District are offering.  You might just want to take a break from cropping and take a stroll down Main Street to do a little browsing, shopping and eating!

Birthday Cards

Get a jump on your birthday cards for 2012 by taking this class.  We will be making 12 cards using a My Minds Eye 6x6 kraft and patterned paper pad that is called “Funday – Happy Days”.  Everyone will receive a paper pad with the class and whatever is left is yours to keep.

COPIC Camp 101: The Basics

This is the beginning of a few courses that will be offered here at Paper Place to really learn how to use Copic markers to their full potential!  You’ll learn techniques from a Certified Copic Designer and practice them in class. Included in class will be five SKETCH markers, your practice workbook made with Copic’s X-Press Blending Cardstock, and a booklet packed with helpful information!  This class will be a pre-requisite to all other Copic marker-related classes, so be sure to get yourself scheduled! (It will also be repeated on a bi-monthly basis, so if you can’t make this month, you can wait for the next round!)

COPIC Camp 102: Beyond the Basics

This class will teach you two more blending techniques, working with grays (believe it or not, this color is important!), special effects, and using the colorless blender.  Be sure to bring your workbooks from the first Copic class, as I will be giving you pages to add to your book and will re-bind it for you.  The class also includes four SKETCH markers and additional pages for your workbook.  Pre-requisite to this class is COPIC Camp: The Basics I!

Copic All-Occasion Cards

Make several colored images to use on cards, depending on time, we’ll complete a card or two, some supplies sent home with you---class is mainly to do the coloring.

“Etcetera” Mini Album

Make a vintage-style paper bag album with pull-outs and tabs and tags.  I love the color scheme of this Bo Bunny line of paper---tea-browns, peach, aqua, yellow…

Glimmer Mist Layout

This class will teach you some basics of Misting and you’ll leave with a layout to put pictures on.  You’ll receive, as part of the class, a Tattered Angels stamp set and matching masks that are yours to keep!  Theme is “5 Things I Love About…..” (could be “YOU”, could be “CRAFTING”, “FAMILY” Fill in with your choice!)

Graphic45 ABC Mini Envelope Album

Using Graphic45’s envelope and tag album and their vintage school line, we’ll make an adorable mini great for your child’s or grandchildren’s school photos.  In addition to the standard class supplies, please bring Glossy Accents, Aged Mahogany Distress Pad (if you have it) and a black ink pad for edge inking.

"It's A Grid Thing" Mosaic Techniques

Have you seen the layout samples we have in the store with photos being cut into different sizes and shapes and then reassembled to create a 2 page layout.  This technique is called mosaic scrapbooking.  I will warn you, once you learn to do this you will want to do more!  The cost of this class includes the tools to continue the process which are nearly equal to the cost of the class.  This month’s class will be based on a fall leaves and pumpkins for use with your Halloween or Thanksgiving photos.

Already know how to do Mosaics?  Anyone wishing to take the class as a refresher, or just for the sake of doing a new layout, may do so.  Cost $15

Simple Sketches aka. Monochromatic Layouts

Bring 4-6 photos to this basic class and complete a 2-page layout using simple layout sketches.  This class is designed to help you use design principles to make simple, clean layouts.   One constant that we hear is “I am so far behind in my scrapbooking, I will never get caught up”!  Join us every month and you will soon find that progress is being made.

Stencil Paste--The Basics

The class will use metal stencils as a base for creating cards as well as embellishments for scrapbook pages.  These stencils can be dry embossed and chalked or inked or used with stencil paste to make dimensional images.  These images look amazing and it is very easy to do once you take this basic class.

tim-spi·ra-tion - [n.] a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify her to receive and communicate all things vintage, distress, and grunge.

Each month, we’ll create a project using all things Tim Holtz!  Take the stress out of distressing by learning just what all those inky things are used for and how you can apply them to everyday projects. Not only will you take away a finished project, but you’ll take away valuable techniques you’ll use over and over again. In January, we’ll make several distressed Valentines using various mediums. February's class theme is yet to be determined but stay tuned! Bring with you an embossing/heat tool, non-stick craft sheet, your distress ink pads, a sanding grip/tool or block (not a file-type sander), scissors, glossy accents and your favorite wet adhesive.

"Welcome Home" Album

Using Kaiser’s wood house-shaped album with windows, we’ll make a great album for family photos – great as a coffee table book or perfect gift! In addition to the standard class supplies, please bring a brown ink pad for edge inking and if you have a brown paint dabber, bring it as well.

Walk-In Wednesdays

NEW!  Who doesn’t like to learn something new?  Every week, on Wednesdays, we’ll have some sort of project that you’ll enjoy making, whether it be a card, tag, page topper, or technique-driven sample, you’ll be the one to benefit from stopping by to visit us every week!  You’ll enjoy “chalkboard discounts” this day, as well. (the chalkboard that greets you inside our entrance door will tell you what the discount of the day is!) Be sure to be there on time----our last project will start at 5:45p.

We have changed QClub to the Paper Shapers Club!  The Club will explore all types of dies and being creative with them!  There are so many manufacturers out there such as Lifestyle Crafts (aka QuicKutz), Spellbinders, Sizzix, and more! 

What are the benefits of being a member?  Why should I join?  Ask us for all the details of belonging to this fun and creative Club!  

Private Crops

Our private crops are becoming popular!  Ask us about scheduling your own and gather your friends and family for exclusive use of our crop room and it’s amenities.  If you are looking for a fun retreat, we can help you plan a weekend away.  We have a Bed and Breakfast right across the street.  If you’re interested, give us a call or send us an email for help in planning your next retreat!

Specialty Classes

Groups, Girl Scout Troops, School projects, or just a group of friends——we can provide the space and instruction for you!  Wedding showers and baby showers can also be accommodated.  Grab at least three friends and we can schedule something special for you (even just a class that you want only you and your friends to attend)!

Crop Room Details—We have rubber stamps, paints, foam stamps, punches, tools, Sizzix, templates, and more!  Enjoy the space, socialization and inspiration!   Crop Fee is FREE!!!  Midnight Crops are also FREE!!

Class Reservation/Cancellation—To reserve space at a class or event, we require pre-payment of your class fee.  If you cancel at least 48 hours prior to the class or event, we can apply your fee to another class or refund your fee, or you may choose to take the kit and utilize our crop room to complete it on your schedule.  Class or event fees on cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the class or event are non-refundable.  Classes are subject to cancellation due to lack of enrollment or inclement weather.  The class will be rescheduled or your class fee refunded  in these cases.
